Opened in July 2012, Wedge Cheese Shop is Reno’s first and only dedicated artisan cheese shop. Located in the heart of MidTown at 16 Saint Lawrence Ave., Wedge offers over 100 hand-crafted cheeses, a large selection of salumi and other cured meats and pâtés. Whatever your specialty cheese needs, we have the products to serve with it – fresh baguettes and crackers, chocolates, local honey and tasty jams, preserves and chutneys, olives, mustard, quality olive oils and aged balsamic vinegars. Need a beautiful cheese board and just the right knife for serving your unique cheeses? We have top quality tools to do the job! Want to learn more about cheese? Come by and talk to one of our knowledgeable Cheesemongers who will help you taste and select just the right products or sign up for one of our cheese classes. Cheese Basics is our introductory class, taught every second Monday of the month. On the fourth Monday, explore further with varying topics like Cheese Pairing with Beer or Wine, Exploring Charcuterie or Cheeses of the World (Exploring cheese of France, Italy, America, etc.).
Wedge is a great place for lunch, afternoon snack or appetizers, too. We offer gourmet sandwiches (cold or grilled) made with our meats, cheeses and house-made spreads or you can order a cheese and meat plate. Enjoy them in the shop with a glass of wine or a chilled beer or get it to go!
Saturday tastings and pairings as well as regular Meet the Producer events are a great way to try new products and expand your specialty food knowledge! And don’t forget, Wedge also does party platters for 2 or 200. Come by and say hello and check out Reno’s hottest new foodie stop!
We are open Tuesday – Saturday 11-7, Sunday 11-5, closed Monday.
Parking is readily available street-side on Saint Lawrence Ave. in front of our building on either side of the street. You can also park in the lot across Virginia Street, in the public parking lot in front of Chuy’s and in front of the Carriage Stone Apts. on Thoma St. one block north of our building. We respectfully ask that you do not park in the lot immediately to the west of our building (720 Tahoe Street), in the Wild Orchid parking lot, or in the Reno Public House lot. These businesses will have your vehicle towed if you park in any of these locations.
Parking is generally available anywhere on Saint Lawrence between Tahoe Street and Plumas Street.
